i remain in conflict
in pain and despair
yet in joy
i am everything
all at once
one with all the emotions
a human can feel
and one with the rise, fall and warmth
of the sun
my belly full and sticking out
balancing on icy cold toes
bottoms of feet telling stories
Dances
to symphony orchestras
and hip hop beats
hard bass lines
broken glass
he asked:
how did this break
my body shakes silent
as i whisper
it's not really broken
the blows dont hurt that bad
i was built to withstand
live to tell about
shiny lip gloss to accentuate
a full, young mouth
adjusting my destiny
with the up and down of my tongue
words resting on clouds.
